Tips for acne prone skin: Cleansing - Care - Nutrition

Acne is considered one of the most common skin diseases that can appear not only at a young age, but also at a later age. Pimples, papules and pustules are especially visible where the body produces a lot of sebum, ie on the face, back and décolleté.

These inflammatory skin changes can be alleviated with the right acne skin care and cream.

What are the causes of acne?

If you want to treat pimples with an acne cream properly and benefit from clear and balanced skin in the long run, you must first get to know the skin condition in all its aspects. The type of acne can vary greatly and depends on many different factors.

Acne often results from a hormone imbalance and can affect young people during puberty as well as adults. The increased formation of male hormones causes an overproduction of sebum in the skin. Stress and anxiety can also throw the skin barrier out of balance. The bacterium C.acnes can reproduce unhindered in this soil and cause inflammatory skin changes. Even though internal processes play a big role in its formation, the right acne cream can effectively treat blemished skin.

What is the right facial cleanser for acne?

For acne-prone skin, the ideal cleanse consists of two products:
  1. A cleansing gel which reliably frees the face and body from excess sebum and clogged pores
  2. A toning lotion face that balances the ph of the skin and leaves a matte effect.
With these steps, the skin is optimally prepared for subsequent acne care.

Which acne cream should be used?

A cream for acne ideally it has a non-greasy, matte texture. It should be non-caesogenic so that it does not clog the pores of the skin, resulting in the accumulation of sebum. This prevents new feeders from appearing.

If you suffer from a more severe form of acne, a corrective serum  acne fights stubborn blemishes and acne scars.

As additional care support, a peeling mask cleans the face intensively, while an anti-imperfection pen specifically targets blackheads, pimples and inflammation, for an immediate local effect.

Beauty routine for acne prone skin:

Evening cleaning
First remove the make-up and free your skin from the impurities that have settled on the skin during the day. Use one mild cleansing gel.
Tip: For a deep cleansing of the skin, we recommend doing a mild exfoliation once or twice a week (or more often if necessary).

Morning cleaning
Cleanse your skin in the morning from the sebum that has accumulated during the night. Use the same mild cleanser as at night.

After cleaning
Complete the cleaning with one facial toner. It renews and removes the remnants of the cleansing product you used previously and optimally prepares your skin for subsequent care.

Special care
After cleaning, you can apply a thin, non-greasy one anti-acne cream. If you are on medication, the cream can help relieve possible side effects such as dryness. It is important that the care products match your skin type. In the case of a milder form of acne, which is not treated with medication, appropriate daily care in the morning and skin renewal care in the evening are recommended.

Sun protection
It is important to protect your skin from the sun. Complete your beauty routine with one sunscreen suitable for acne-prone skin, to avoid the formation of marks.

Makeup
To cover imperfections and make the skin tone look more even, you can apply a cream with color, makeup or masking pen
Don't forget: proper cleansing and makeup removal again at night!

What properties should suitable products for cleaning and care have?

  1. To be non-edible. Acne products work in such a way that they do not clog the pores of the skin and do not favor their formation.
  2. They should not have a greasy texture. Skin prone to pollution already produces too much sebum - so care products should not have an extra greasy effect.
  3. To be comedolytic. These products help unclog pimples and blemishes and dissolve blackheads.
  4. To be keratolytic (Keratolytic). These products have a keratolytic effect. This means they support the removal of dead skin cells.
  5. Have a mild and gentle pH. Make sure your skin care products don't further irritate the skin. Avoid products that are too aggressive.

Acne treatment isn't just limited to skin care products.

An anti-acne cream is considered part of a holistic care to combat it. The manifestation of the disease and the healing process is significantly influenced by other aspects of our daily life.

You can do a lot to create the best conditions for beautiful skin:
  1. Careful skin handling: Do not squeeze the pimples yourself, but treat them with the right face care for acne skin.
  2. A proper diet: Don't feed the inflammation in your skin with foods that have a high glycemic index (sweets), dairy products, or pork. Prefer (green) vegetables, berries, whole grains and foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids!
  3. Avoid stress: Stress hormones throw the skin barrier out of balance. Make sure to fill your day with enough moments of relaxation and relaxation.
  4. Apply sunscreen: Skin with acne is particularly sensitive even to the sun's radiation. Photoaging, due to long-term exposure to solar radiation leads to premature aging of the skin.
  5. Consult an expert: It is important to make a correct diagnosis of the type of acne so that, if necessary, the appropriate medication can be applied.

Skin with acne needs special attention. It is important to choose your skin care products correctly and to match your needs. The correct and gentle cleansing of the face as well as its hydration with non-greasy and nourishing products is the first step for a uniform skin without blemishes.
