Do you know the new miracle anti-aging face exercise? We don't want to exaggerate, so let's call it "workout with slow age effect". Face Yoga has the basic concept of pressure and contact. This means that at best you do daily stretching exercises, usually with your hands, on your face, rather than your body. It makes sense, after all, there are muscles and in the face – 26 in all! And especially now during the coronavirus pandemic, the increased time spent working in the office or at home in front of the screen takes a toll on our skin.
Also, choose Face Yoga as a cost-effective and sustainable solution for beautiful skin.
Below we explain everything about Face Yoga and show you the best exercises:
Facial Yoga is a type of facial muscle training. This rejuvenates the skin, neutralizes wrinkles and promotes blood circulation – and brings a sense of relaxation. Just a few minutes a day promise a visible antiaging effect. It works similarly to the neurotoxin Botox/ Botulinum toxin A. The impulses to the muscles are blocked and thus relaxed. In Face Yoga, lasting relaxation happens naturally.
The benefits also have a psychological impact. Massage and skin pressure release feel-good hormones. This then relieves stress, relaxes and boosts the immune system.
Not only are there many studies that prove the effectiveness of facial yoga, but there are also many Hollywood stars on whom you can admire the results. By the way, the "inventor" is Fumiko Takatsu, a woman from Japan, where she applied the principles of Hatha Yoga to the facial muscles. She wanted to compensate for the damage done to her face after an accident.
As we grow older, the most common signs of aging are forehead wrinkles, expression lines between the eyebrows or nasolabial folds. And of course around the eyes: bags, expression wrinkles, crow's feet, puffy and tired eyes.
The signs of age are also evident on the lips, jawline, neck and décolleté.
In addition to the effects on the appearance of the facial skin, face yoga can also address health issues such as teeth grinding, tinnitus, migraine and headache.
Face yoga can therefore increase our self-confidence and bring an overall well-being to our body.
What do you need: No utensils needed – except your hands!
How does it work: You should do each exercise several times.
Cleanse your hands and face and remove oil (if you have dry skin, apply a moisturizer first). Next, place yourself in front of a mirror.
For better circulation, gently tap your fingers over the face, neck and décolleté.
Spread the fingers on both sides of the head and massage the entire scalp in counterclockwise circular motions.
One point is in the hole in front of the ear opening, the second is a third of the ear up. The third is above the ear. You should feel pulses at all three points. Stimulate the areas 60 times for two minutes each.
Pull your cheeks strongly inward and pout your lips. After a minute, puff out your cheeks for a few seconds. Repeat.
Place your hands on the temples and pull them back. The eyes are closed, the face is tense and the mouth forms an "O".
Tip: Never push or pull too hard, otherwise it can have the opposite effect and create wrinkles!
We reveal the tips and tricks for each region:
Face Yoga should be practiced for about 15-30 minutes (depending on the desired result), 5 times a week. Very dedicated women who want an optimal result can even practice it daily. You can also incorporate it into your regular yoga practice. And like there, facial yoga can also be combined with breathing.
Treat Yoga as an eternal fountain of youth? In addition to face yoga, exercise, healthy diet and lifestyle as well as the right skin care and, of course, UV protection is essential for a healthy body and youthful skin.
Face Yoga is also definitely recommended!
