The Cretan herb Cistus creticus has been known since ancient times and is traditionally used for its medicinal properties. In almora PLUS® CISTUS PROTECT the Cistus creticus extract is titrated, containing 20% polyphenols. The extract's high concentration of polyphenols has been studied in vivo and in vitro, documenting its adjuvant antiviral, antibacterial activity and immune system support.
Vitamin D is one of the most important vitamins for the functioning of the body as, among other things, it contributes to the normal condition of bones and teeth as well as to the normal functioning of the immune system. Vitamin D deficiency is associated with impaired immune system function and increased risk of infections.
Zinc is a valuable trace element with antiviral activity, which makes it essential for the immune response to viral infections. The administration of Zinc, in appropriate doses, has the potential to enhance the normal function or to restore the reduced function of the cells of the immune system. In almora PLUS® CISTUS PROTECT, Zinc is found in the form of zinc diglycinate which in a randomized clinical study proved to significantly increase its oral bioavailability.
