When sprayed on the nasal mucosa, ALLEGRIN forms a slightly osmotic, durable, elastic and absorbent barrier membrane in the nasal mucosa.
The membrane acts as an instantaneous protective barrier against environmental allergens and pollutants, thus minimizing the contact of the nasal surface with allergens. The positive osmotic pressure of the membrane also attracts and traps the contaminants present in the nasal mucosa. The cleansing of the nasal surface creates favorable conditions for the repair of the mucosa and self-defense. The entire nasal mucosa helps prevent allergens from entering the body. The combined action of this absorbent mechanical barrier membrane to protect, cleanse and minimize exposure to allergens provides rapid relief of symptoms. ALLEGRIN is not very irritating, it acts directly and mechanically on the nasal surface without being absorbed by the body. Clinical results show a significant reduction in nasal congestion & irritation and normalization of nasal secretions in a very short time. ALLEGRIN can be used before the expected exposure (applied about 5-15 minutes before the exposure, for preventive action) or after the onset of the allergic reaction.
