Maca (Lepidium meyenii) is an endemic plant with adaptive action that grows in the highlands of the Andes and is traditionally cultivated as a food to increase energy levels and enhance mental clarity. Historically, the root of the plant served the nutritional needs of the indigenous populations of Peru before the war, while under normal conditions it was the exclusive dietary privilege of the Spanish nobility.
The components of maca are a complex mixture of carbohydrates, proteins, fiber and lipids. Its beneficial effect is due to the sufficiency of vital active components, such as amino acids, sterols, trace minerals, polysaccharides, fatty acids and B vitamins.
Maca, as a food supplement, is a natural source of nutrients, which supports the body's normal immune response. In addition, according to scientific research the Cat it can enhance the sexual drive in men and women, without, however, exerting a direct effect on the endocrine function of the body.
