Evening Primrose Oil
This product combines Evening Primrose Oil with Starflower (borage) seed oil to produce a blend that is richer in G-linoleic acid (GLA) than the G-linoleic acid that Evening Primrose Oil provides on its own. GLA is the precursor substance of a particularly important prostaglandin of PGE1, which participates in a multitude of important biological functions. Despite the fact that the body can produce GLA from Linoleic acid (the Omega 6 fatty acid found in vegetable oils), this conversion is often slowed down or even completely inhibited. For this reason, a dietary source of GLA may be useful for the body to bypass the conversion process, which is confirmed by several clinical studies in which supplementation with GLA in specific cases. This product provides approximately 50% more GLA per capsule compared to similarly sized capsules of Evening Primrose Oil. Each Lamberts Extra High Potency EPO capsule also provides 10mg of Vitamin E which helps protect cells from oxidative stress.
