Tribulus terrestris has been used traditionally for centuries in ancient Greece, India and Africa to enhance fertility. Scientific studies indicate that although it does not actually contain hormones, Tribulus extract helps support healthy hormone production and good male reproductive health.
Tribulus is thought to affect testosterone production by triggering the body to release luteinizing hormone (LH), which acts as the body's teller to produce more testosterone. It owes its effects to the special group of steroidal glycosides, which belong to the broader class of natural products called "saponins" (either steroids or triterpenoids).
